Our Mission
Klamath County Library is actively committed to providing open and equal access and guidance to information resources, literature, and ideas for all our county residents. The library will maintain a diverse collection of books and other materials and protect the principles of intellectual freedom.
Our Organizational Philosophy
We believe that information and knowledge are crucial for the well-being of our community. In fulfilling our mission as information providers, we strive to provide the best possible combination of information resources, professional, efficient staff and friendly, equitable service. We believe we must focus on our community as we plan our programs and services. As we develop new programs, we must also develop our staff, our most important resource and our main point of contact with our community. In all we do, we strive to enrich our community by our service to it.
Our Vision
The library must play a leadership role in the community as an essential contact for all residents in need of information. We will continue to serve the community by offering a broad range of services and programs designed to foster literacy and a love of reading, to support life-long learning and share the power of ideas.
We will build on our tradtional role by serving as a gateway to and mediator between global information resources and our constituents. We will strive to bring knowledge of and access to new information technologies to our community.
